Are you even prepared for the glory of a zillion homemade salsa recipes today? Well, if not Reader, buckle the heck up, because I have some kinda life changing ones for you that will forever make you laugh when you walk down the salsa isle of your supermarket and pass the overpriced jars of sucky stuff.
⭐️👉 First, A Few General Quick Tips for Home Salsa Making Success
• For Salsas That Require Roasting, don’t rush: For deeper flavor, take time to roast your ingredients at high temperature (usually 400F/205C)—especially tomatoes, chiles, onions, and garlic. Otherwise, if you don't want to heat up your whole dang house, use a dry skillet or comal over medium-high heat until charred and softened.
• Balance your heat: If you’re spice-sensitive, start small and blend chiles in stages. Most recipes can be adjusted without losing character. If you are super sensitive, USE GLOVES when handling chilies!
• Texture is a choice: Use a food processor or molcajete (those coarse Mexican mortar and pestle thingies) for chunky salsas, a high-speed blender for smooth ones. For best results, pulse in batches rather than over-blending.
• Store it right: Keep salsas in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Glass jars are best for holding acidity and color without staining or reacting.
• USE LEGIT CUMIN: Don't use trash cumin. Grab a bottle of my absolute fave cumin seeds on earth. Just click this link, add the cumin to your cart, buy $15 or more of their super-good spices, and they will ship you this insane cumin for free!
